Inspired by Jesús Rafael Soto’s explorations of movement, vibration, and perception, Soto Shining transforms reclaimed architectural samples into a luminous geometric composition.
Nine metallic-toned laminate samples—each engraved with delicate parallel lines—float above a textured carpet-sample background. Their shifting tones of green, gold, copper, blue, and burgundy interact with the red lines woven into the surface below. As light and viewpoint change, the engraved lines shimmer, the colors vibrate, and the raised elements cast shadows that give the work a subtle kinetic quality.
Through the language of REPOP ART®, discarded materials are brought together in a new visual rhythm—an homage to Soto and to the transformative power of light, color, and movement.
